A plain answer

What is a jewelry clienteling and texting app?

It is a client book built for a jewelry counter, with texting inside it. It remembers each client’s ring size, partner, important dates and wishlist, tells your team who to follow up with each day, and lets them send that text from the same screen, with consent and opt-outs handled for them.

GemReach is one of these apps. It is made for independent jewelry stores and small teams, runs inside Shopify or as a standalone web account, and has a $0 Free plan. Paid plans are $49 and $99 a month.

What it does for a jewelry store

Fine jewelry is sold through repeat, personal relationships: an engagement ring, then wedding bands, then anniversaries and birthdays for years. Most of that follow-up lives in an associate’s head or a paper book. When that associate is off, or leaves, the follow-up stops.

A clienteling app keeps that knowledge in one shared place and turns it into a short daily list. In GemReach that list is called Today: birthdays and anniversaries coming up, wishlist pieces back in stock, clients who have gone quiet, and service or appraisal reminders, each with a ready-to-send text.

Why the texting belongs in the same app

Clients answer texts. But texting customers from a personal phone loses the history, and US rules expect a record of consent, instant opt-out handling and sensible sending hours. A texting tool that knows nothing about the client cannot write a personal message either.

In GemReach every outbound text passes one check: recorded consent, STOP/START status, the monthly text allowance, and quiet hours of 8am to 9pm in the client’s own timezone. Replies land in one shared inbox the whole team can work from. You stay responsible for what your messages say.

What to check before you choose one

  • Jewelry fields on every client: ring size, partner name, birthday, anniversary and a wishlist.
  • A daily list that tells each associate who to contact today and why.
  • Texting from the same screen, so the follow-up happens where the reminder is.
  • Consent records, automatic STOP/START handling and quiet hours checked on every send.
  • Published prices, so you can compare plans without a sales call.
  • Your client book can be exported, so you are never locked in.
  • If you sell on Shopify, customers and orders sync in without retyping.

What GemReach does not do

  • Live texting works only for clients in the United States and Canada, from a dedicated US toll-free number that must pass carrier toll-free verification before the first live text.
  • It does not handle phone calls and is not a point-of-sale system.
  • It has no brand catalogs from jewelry vendors.
  • AI reply drafts run only on your own Anthropic or OpenAI key. Without one, AI drafting is off and everything else works.
  • The repairs and special orders tracker is a status list with a "ready to collect" text, not full repair ticketing.
